Make Money Online (and off): Write and Promote an Ezine
An ezine can make money online (and off) for you and, best of all, it can be a low-cost marketing program for your business. It can build confidence, customer loyalty, attract new clients, promote your name, build trust, and give you recognition as an expert in your field.
You know you have something to share, teach, and tell your clients and an electronic newsletter is a good way to start promoting your expertise and your business. Here are some ideas to get you started making money online.
1. Write an ezine — Make a list of topics to cover in your ezine.
First, you must write an ezine that has good content and is helpful and informative to your clients. What topics would be of interest to your clients and prospects? Make a list of at least ten of them to start and this will be your starting point to write those first few newsletters — one topic per ezine. Keep the articles simple and easy to understand. A good word length is from 500-1000 words.
If writing is not your favorite thing to do, write the first draft and get your thoughts down on paper. Don’t worry about the sentence structure, spelling, etc. Just get all the ideas down that will go into this ezine. Then ask a student or a writing friend to polish the article for you. You can barter for their help or offer a small fee or gift (like a gift card from a bookstore) for their services. The important thing is that you are an expert and you need to get the word out there so people will know about you and the great tips you have to offer.
2. Low-cost marketing tips to make money online (and off) with an ezine.
Your ezine articles can help you make money online (and off) when you promote your
products and services in the newsletter. Here are some low-cost marketing ideas that you can start doing.
a) Promote your products and services. Your readers have already accepted
you as the expert and now they want to know more. Be sure you have more to offer
them: products and services that you announce in your ezine. Offer free reports for the new readers to your newsletter, and low cost products for subscribers who have not bought from you before. Then high priced products and services for those readers that know you, have bought from you, and have been faithful to your newsletter for several months.
b) Affiliate Program: Affiliates to promote your products. Getting others to promote your products is a terrific way to make some money. This takes a little time because first you have to build a relationship with other Internet marketers. You want to make friends with people who will promote you for free (and you will do the same for them), or on an Affiliate basis (a commission). You need to search for a service that will list your product with them such as ClickBank.
c) Affiliate Revenue Program. Search online for products you are willing to endorse or mention. You can make money online by selling other Internet marketers’ products. You will need to have a presence online with a website or blog in order to sell these products.
d) Paid Speaking Engagements. Do you like to speak? Publicize it in your
newsletter. If you don’t like to speak, join a Toastmasters group in your community, and begin practicing. Every entrepreneur, online or off, should be ready to speak when asked. This is a great way to promote yourself locally in your community, or Internationally if this is your desire.
e) Promote your Membership or Mastermind Group. You can offer a Membership or Mastermind program on your ezine. This is a monthly fee program where you offer information and support that is privately shared information only to your group. You will do this with Teleseminars, email messages or forums, and a special newsletter that is sent only to your paid subscribed members. Be creative and think of other things you can offer this unique, special group of members.
f) Use your ezine to promote your teleseminars and telecourses. While I
usually do not charge for my teleseminars, many do. Start by promoting free
teleseminars and then promote your fee-based telecourses. Your ezine is a great way to market your teleseminars.
…There are many other ways to make money from your ezine, however we focused on low-cost marketing ways for this article. If you do not know how some of the services work that I mentioned do a search online for the words I used and you will find a wealth of information on how to start. Avoid paying for services in the beginning (other than buying a low-cost eBook that sounds like it could give you the information you need) until you fully understand and have a grasp of the service you want to start.
Your ezine is a powerful business-building product. There is a lot of work involved in determining what your ezine will cover and how to promote it and build your list. We mentioned a few ways to make money online (and off) with your ezine. Begin by offering one free product with your ezine and a medium priced product. With persistence and a plan your ezine can make money for you.
